Buccaneer 24 Trimaran Plans

Guess what arrived in the post this week? A package from Australia – with boat plans inside! Plans for the Crowther Buccaneer 24 Trimaran to be exact. I figured the only way to make a sensible decision on whether it was the right choice of boat to build – or even the right choice to build a boat at all – was to get hold of the plans and see exactly what was involved.

It looks like fun, I reckon I’ll be giving it a go; Money permitting.

I’ll try and document times and costs as I go, including any ideas used to reduce the length of build and overall price as well as modernise the boat a little.

Do you have a link to more specifics for the plans? (Cost, basic materials list)

Yes, I’ll be sticking up a load more info on here over the coming months I’m sure, but the best place to start is the thread on the boatdesign forums at http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/multihulls/buccaneer-24-builders-forum-28496.html – oldsailor7 is reproducing copies of the plans at the moment. There’s a lot of info on there including study plans, materials list and building guide, not to mention a lot of real life experience.
